خلال مراسم توقيع الاتفاق السياسي بين البرهان وحمدوك خصص القائد العام للقوات المسلحة إشادة خاصة بقائد ثاني الدعم السريع الفريق عبد الرحيم دقلو لاسهامه الكبير في ذلك الاتفاق الذي جنب البلاد من الانزلاق في ويلات التشتت والتشرذم.
وظل الفريق عبد الرحيم دقلو يلعب دورا وطنيا مهما في إطفاء كثير من بؤر التوتر وله اسهامات عديدة في المصالحات القبلية واخماد نيران الصراع القبلي الذي حدث في كثير من مناطق السودان.
والفريق دقلو رجل كريم مجواد يحب السودان دون مزايدة.. قليل الكلام وكثير الإنجازات حيث كان واحدا من الذين قادوا الوساطة مع رئيس الوزراء عبد الله حمدوك بغرض تجنيب البلاد ويلات الانزلاق في الهاوية.. فهو حكيم ووفي بوعده مؤمنا بقضايا الوطن والمواطن.. رجل صبور وبشوش وقائد محنك استطاع تحمل الكثير من الاساءات والصبر عليها وهذه هي صفات الرجل القائد
ودقلو سبق وأن كانت له أدوار فعالة في الثورة والحفاظ عليها من خلال توجيهاته المستمرة لقوات الدعم السريع.
ان المصلحة الوطنية تقتضي من الجميع التواضع على ميثاق وطني يضع السودان في الاولوية وفوق كل الاعتبارات الحزبية والشخصية وان يكون هناك قبول للرأي والرأي الآخر تحقيقا لمبدا الديمقراطية وارساءا لقواعدها حتي يمضي السودان الي التحول الديمقراطي المنشود الذي يؤسس لدولة مدنية تحترم فيها كافة الحقوق وتصان فيها كرامة الإنسان وتتوفر فيها العدالة.
ان السودان يزخر بالحادبين على مصلحة البلاد دون مزايدات حيث أن هذا الأمر يحتاج الي تقديم المبادرات ودراستها ودعمها لتمضي البلاد نحو تحقيق الأهداف المرجوة بما يضمن الوحدة الوطنية والاتفاق على ميثاق وطني يضع السودان فوق كل المصالح.
وقد وجد الاتفاق السياسي بين البرهان وحمدوك مباركة وتأييد كبير وسط القوي السياسية نتيجة لجهود وطنية خالصة ومشاورات واسعة حتي افضت للاتفاق السياسي الذي تم التوقيع عليه بين رئيس المجلس السيادي الفريق اول عبد الفتاح البرهان ورئيس الوزراء الدكتور عبد الله حمدوك .
ان الدور الوطني الذي لعبه وقام به دقلو وعدد من الحادبين على الوطن في طي صفحات الخلاف والاحتراب وصولاً للوفاق الوطني جنب السودان من الانزلاق في حرب وتمزق
وان كل الشعب السوداني بمختلف تشكيلاته للإصطفاف خلف هذا الاعلان حفاظا على الوطن ومكتسبات الثورة المجيدة والعمل على ضرورة استكمال هياكل الفترة الانتقالية ومستحقاتها وصولاً لإنتخابات حرة ونزيهة
و ظل الشعب السوداني والعالم يتابع ويراقب ما يجري في الساحة السياسية السودانية من أحداث بعناية فائقة واهتمام كبير خوفاً على الأرواح والتراب والوحدة من الانقسام والتشرذم والتشفي حيث أن البلاد عاشت ايام عصيبة وليال مظلمة نتجت عن خلافات حادة كادت ان تعصف بالوطن كله لولا ارادة الله وحكمة وقوة قيادات الشعب المدنية والعسكرية .
